The Air Ambulance Service is a pre-hospital emergency care charity that provides three vital air ambulance services. These include two regional air ambulances, Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance and Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, and a national paediatric service, The Children’s Air Ambulance.
The Children’s Air Ambulance
The Children’s Air Ambulance is the first and only dedicated national helicopter paediatric transfer service, moving critically ill children across the whole of the UK.
We provide helicopter transfers to seriously ill children from their local hospitals to more specialist paediatric intensive care units, where they can receive the expert treatment they need. When a child is too sick to move, we can bring a team to their bedside, saving time that can prove the difference between life and death.
We have completed over 120 transfers, helping to save 120 tiny lives, but we can’t keep our lifesaving service flying without your help. It costs around £134,000 a month to keep the service flying.
